TV says “No Signal” — the 60-second checklist
- Press Input/Source on the TV remote and step through every HDMI input slowly.
- Check the device has a power light — cable box or streaming stick that’s off sends nothing.
- Reseat the HDMI cable at both ends, then power cycle the device (30 seconds unplugged) and the TV (unplug from wall, not just remote off).
Still dark? Call OBX Tech Guy at (252) 686-1451 — often it’s a corroded cable or failing port we can swap on the spot.
Streaming keeps buffering — what it actually means
Buffering means data isn’t reaching the TV fast enough. Run fast.com on your phone standing next to the TV: under ~25 Mbps and streaming struggles. Fast near the router but slow at the TV = WiFi coverage problem. Slow everywhere = internet connection problem. Then power cycle the streaming device itself — 30 seconds unplugged.
Soundbar silent? It’s almost always output or ARC
Check the TV’s Sound Output setting points at the soundbar (not TV speakers or Bluetooth), the soundbar is on the right source, and the HDMI cable sits in the port labeled ARC/eARC on both ends. Power cycle both, TV first.
